In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef, 1 cup of sweet corn, 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Mix until well combined. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, scoop 1/4 cup of the beef mixture into the skillet, flattening it slightly to form a patty.
Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fritters from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
