Classic Waffles
These classic waffles are light, fluffy, and perfect for breakfast or brunch. They can be topped with syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream for a delightful treat.
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
In another bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1 3/4 cups of milk, and 1/2 cup of melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or a small amount of melted butter.
Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron, close the lid, and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, about 5 minutes.
Carefully remove the waffles and keep them warm in a low oven while you repeat with the remaining batter.
Serve the waffles warm with your choice of toppings such as syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
