Classic Banana Bread

A moist and flavorful banana bread that is perfect for breakfast or as a snack. This recipe uses ripe bananas to create a sweet and tender loaf that is easy to make and sure to please everyone.
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with butter (for greasing) and set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas (for batter) with a fork until smooth.
3. Add the sugar (for batter), butter (for dough), eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and mix until well combined.
4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour (for batter), baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
6. If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts (for batter) or chocolate chips (for batter) for added texture and flavor.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
