Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks
These cheesy garlic breadsticks are the perfect midnight snack, combining gooey cheese and aromatic garlic for a delightful treat.
Preheat your oven to 400°F. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of warm water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast.
Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 3 cups of all-purpose flour to the yeast mixture.
Mix until a dough forms, then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle with 2 teaspoons of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Top the dough with 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing into sticks. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious midnight snack!
