Buttermilk Substitute Biscuits

These biscuits are light and fluffy, made with a buttermilk substitute for a tender texture. Perfect for breakfast or as a side for any meal, they are easy to make and deliciously satisfying.
Preheat your oven to 450°F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Cut in 1/2 cup of cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
In a separate bowl, mix 3/4 cup of milk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to create a buttermilk substitute, then pour it into the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 30 seconds.
Roll or pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are touching for soft sides.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
